- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 egg yolk, beaten
- 1 cup sour cream
- Juice of one lemon or orange
- In a small bowl, add sugar and cornstarch, whisking to combine.
- Add beaten egg and whisk thoroughly.
- Add sour cream, and heat in a double boiler, stirring constantly.
- When sour cream thickens and coats spoon, remove from heat and stir in juice.
- Cool and spread between cake layers.
