While any cookie is a good cookie as the weather gets colder, glazed maple pecan cookies not only have the cookie scent but incorporate the best tastes of the season.

Autumn is when pecans are readily available and fresh off the trees. Pecans and maple syrup is a classic combination like lemon and raspberry. This recipe for glazed maple pecan cookies blends the two flavors into one tasty cookie that is sure to become one of your family's favorites and part of your holiday tradition.

Glazed Maple Pecan Cookies Recipe

The Cookies


  • 11 1/4 oz all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon maple extract
  • 6 oz unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup pure Vermont maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz toasted chopped pecans


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt together.
  3. Mix the butter and sugar until they are smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the egg and extracts.
  5. Next, add the dry ingredients that have been sifted.
  6. Using parchment paper, roll the cookie dough into a 2-inch thick tube.
  7. Place the tube into your refrigerator for at least one hour, but ideally for three hours or until thoroughly chilled.
  8. Slice the cookies into 1/4 inch thick slices.
  9. Place on a prepared cookie sheet and cook 14-18 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let the cookies cool before glazing.

The Glaze


  • 3/4 cups sifted powder sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure Vermont maple syrup
  • Warm water to thin down if needed


  1. Using mixer or whisk, blend all ingredients together until smooth.
  2. If needed, add water to semi-thick consistency.

Once the cookies have cooled, spread the glaze on top and enjoy your new holiday tradition.
