  • 3 medium cooking apples
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Directions

  1. Slice the apples into 1/2-inch rings.
  2. In a heavy skillet, melt the butter.
  3. Place the apple slices along the bottom of the skillet. It is important that the rings do not break, but keep their shape.
  4. Mix the sugar, cinnamon, and salt and cover the apples with half the mixture.
  5. Cook slowly for 5 minutes.
  6. Turn the slices over once so that each side can cook.
  7. Add the remaining sugar mixture to the apples.
  8. Cook over low heat until apples are almost transparent.

  • 1 1/2 cup of sugar

  • 1 1/2 cup of self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup of butter, softened

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine 1 cup of sugar, water, and lemon juice in a large bowl.
  3. Stir the mixture so that the sugar dissolves.
  4. Add the fruit, removing stems and slicing, if using fresh strawberries.
  5. Blend well.
  6. Pour into a lightly greased 13x9 baking dish.
  7. Combine the flour and remaining 1/2 cup sugar in a bowl.
  8. Cut in the butter, blending until crumbly.
  9. Spoon over fruit.
  10. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until the top is brown and the fruit is bubbly.
  11. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

  • 1 14-ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 4-serving size of instant chocolate flavor pudding and pie filling mix
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • 1 cup of whipping cream

Directions

  1. Beat the sweetened condensed milk, pudding mix, and water.
  2. Chill in the refrigerator for ten minutes.
  3. While the mixture is cooling, whip the whipping cream in a bowl.
  4. Remove the mixture and fold in the whipping cream.
  5. Spoon into serving dishes and chill for at least an hour.
  6. Garnish with sprigs of fresh mint or chocolate shavings.

  • 1 box of German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 14-ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 8-ounce jar of caramel topping
  • 8-ounces of whipped topping
  • 2 small toffee flavored candy bars, crushed
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts

Directions

  1. Using the instructions on the cake box, mix the cake as directed.
  2. Pour batter into 9x13 cake pan.
  3. When the cake is done, remove from oven.
  4. With a wooden spoon handle, punch about twenty holes in the top of the cake.
  5. Pour sweetened condensed milk over the top of the cake.
  6. Pour the caramel topping over the top of the milk.
  7. Refrigerate until completely cooled.
  8. Cover with whipped topping.
  9. Sprinkle the top with crushed toffee bits and nuts.
  10. Cut into slices to serve 16 to 18.
