Strawberry cake

Ingredients for Strawberry Cake Recipe

  • 3/4 cup puréed fresh strawberries

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 4 eggs, beaten

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 2 1/4 cups sifted flour

  • 1 3/4 cups sugar

  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cups butter, softened, cut into pieces


  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the strawberries, milk, eggs, and vanilla.

  3. In the bowl of a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and butter pieces.

  4. Pulse the food processor for 20 one-second pulses until the mixture resembles coarse sand.

  5. Pour the flour mixture into a large bowl in which you'll use a hand mixer, or into the bowl of a stand mixer.

  6. Add the wet ingredients and mix on medium speed, scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula as you mix, until the ingredients are well combined, about two minutes.

  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.

  9. Move the cake to a wire rack to cool. Frost when the cake has completely cooled.

  10. Frost with cream cheese frosting, or, for a really fresh flavor, with simple whipped cream. If you frost with whipped cream, refrigerate the cake until it's time to serve it.
