Boiled Custard Recipe

Ingredients for Boiled Custard Recipe

  • 2 cups scalded milk
  • Yolks of 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla flavor
  • A few grains of salt


  1. Beat the egg yolks slightly, add the salt and the sugar and stir constantly while slowly adding the hot milk.
  2. Cook in a double boiler, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens sufficiently to coat a spoon.
  3. Remove from heat, set into a pan of cold water, add flavor and let cool.
