Classic Spinach Dip Recipe

This simple, classic recipe is beloved for a reason. It's a cool dip that's perfect for chips, veggies, or crackers. 

Ingredients

  • 1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • ½ cup sliced water chestnuts, about ¼ inch thick
  • ½ cup finely chopped carrots
  • ½ cup finely chopped green onions
  • ½ cup finely chopped fresh parsley

Directions

  1. Put the spinach in a colander and press it to squeeze extra water out of it. Set it aside to let it drain.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, stir the sour cream, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing mix together.
  3. Add the spinach, water chestnuts, carrots, green onions, and parsley to the sour cream mix, and stir well.
  4. Chill the dip for about two hours.

White Cheesy Spinach Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 (10-ounce) packages frozen spinach, thawed
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 (8-ounce) packages chive cream cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 small onion, chopped fine
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Put the spinach in a colander, and press it to remove the water. Set it aside to continue draining.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook them until they just begin to turn translucent, 3-4 minutes.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and add the cream cheese and sour cream. Stir slowly until the cheese melts and combines with the butter and onions.
  4. Stir in the spinach and lemon juice (if you want it) until they're completely blended with the cheesy base, and sprinkle with a little salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Pour the dip into a serving dish and sprinkle the Parmesan on top.

Spinach and Artichoke Dip

It's a classic for a reason. Spinach and artichokes have a natural affinity, and this tangy, creamy dip is a crowd pleaser. 

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces spinach, fresh or frozen
  • 14 ounces artichoke hearts, drained
  • 1 cup shredded Italian cheese
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce (jarred or homemade)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Chop the spinach and artichoke into small pieces. If using frozen spinach, make sure it is thawed and dried before using.
  3. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and then transfer to a baking dish.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until bubbly. 

Spinach, Bacon, and Feta Dip

Bacon makes everything better, and it adds a smoky, salty flavor to this yummy dip.

Ingredients

  • 2 (10-ounce) packages frozen spinach, thawed
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1½ cups mayonnaise
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 (8-ounce) package feta
  • 1 (4-ounce) bag real bacon crumbles
  • ¼ cup jarred banana pepper rings, drained and chopped

Directions

  1. Drain the spinach in a colander.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sour cream and mayonnaise, and stir well.
  3. Add the spinach, onion, feta, bacon, and banana peppers, and stir until well combined.
  4. Chill at least two hours, but overnight is even better.
