Ingredients for Southern Cornbread Recipe
- 1 cup sour milk
- ½ teaspoon soda dissolved in 1 teaspoon water
- 1 egg yolk
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1-½ cups cornmeal
- White of one egg beaten stiff
- Mix sour cream, soda, egg yolk, salt, and cornmeal. When mixed, stir in egg white.
- Bake in muffin tins or in a shallow pan at 350 degrees for fifteen minutes.
