Ingredients for Sour Cream Filling For Cake Recipe

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Juice of one lemon or orange

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, add sugar and cornstarch, whisking to combine.
  2. Add beaten egg and whisk thoroughly.
  3. Add sour cream, and heat in a double boiler, stirring constantly.
  4. When sour cream thickens and coats spoon, remove from heat and stir in juice.
  5. Cool and spread between cake layers.
