Nothing beats a bowl of hot soup on a cold day. It should come as no surprise, then, that giving soup mixes in a jar as gifts has grown in popularity over the past several years for a multitude of occasions like Christmas, birthdays, and housewarmings.

Three Recipes for Jarred Soup Mixes

Follow the instructions below to create each jarred mix. Then print off the recipe cards using Adobe and attach them to the jars using ribbon or yarn. The cards have additional ingredients needed to complete the recipes, cooking instructions, and the ingredient list for the jarred mix in case the recipients want to recreate the mix themselves.

Layering Tips

For optimal results when layering soup mix ingredients, Organized Christmas suggests using a canning funnel to ensure layers settle evenly. Following soup mix recipes exactly and layering ingredients "small to large" -- or where the finest-textured ingredients are on the bottom of the jar, and the bulkiest on the top -- is also helpful when it comes to creating a picture-perfect product, notes Organized Christmas.
