Ingredients for Granola with Oats Recipe

  • 1-1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cups rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup dried apples, diced

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan on the stove on medium heat.
  2. Combine the oats, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger in a large bowl and transfer to the olive oil.
  3. Stir the oats until well coated with the oil and beginning to toast - approximately 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Remove the oats from the pan and set aside.
  5. Place the butter, honey, brown sugar and molasses in the pan.
  6. Once the butter has melted, stir thoroughly to combine.
  7. Pour the oats back into the pan and stir to distribute the oats and butter evenly.
  8. Remove from heat and add in the raisins, pecans and apples.
  9. Spread the granola on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Allow the granola to harden as it cools to room temperature. Transfer to a lidded jar.
