Ingredients for Creamed Mushroom Toast Recipe

  • Mushrooms, sliced
  • Milk
  • 1/4 cup of sweet butter
  • 1/2 cup rich cream
  • toast

Instructions

  1. Stew the mushrooms in a little milk; add butter.
  2. Boil until tender.
  3. Add cream, and boil until of a thick, creamy consistency.
  4. The beaten yolk of an egg can be stirred in to thicken, or flour and milk as in oyster toast.
  5. Serve on hot buttered toast.
