- 2 tablespoons fat or butter in which meat has been cooked
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups water
- Seasonings to taste
- Add flour to fat in a pan that has just cooked meat.
- Let it become brown (not burned).
- Add the water and stir until smooth and medium thick.
- Season to taste. Simmer for 3 minutes.
- Pass through a fine strainer-this gives a better and more appetizing appearance.
