Ingredients for Cornmeal Cakes Recipe
- 1 pint cornmeal
- 1 heaping tablespoon cooked rice
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1 pint milk
- 1 tablespoon flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Mix cornmeal, flour, salt, baking powder and rice.
- Add milk and yolks.
- Beat the egg whites until stiff.
- Fold egg whites into batter.
- Grill in hot fat until brown.
