Ingredients for Boiled Custard Recipe
- 2 cups scalded milk
- Yolks of 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla flavor
- A few grains of salt
- Beat the egg yolks slightly, add the salt and the sugar and stir constantly while slowly adding the hot milk.
- Cook in a double boiler, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens sufficiently to coat a spoon.
- Remove from heat, set into a pan of cold water, add flavor and let cool.
