- 6 beets
- 4 sweet potatoes
- 1 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter
- Seasonings to taste
- 2 pots of water
- Boil beets in salted water for 30 minutes.
- Boil sweet potatoes in a separate pot of water for about 20 minutes.
- Peel beets and potatoes and slice them into equal thickness.
- Place in baking or pudding dish.
- Cover with molasses, butter, water, and seasonings.
- Bake in a moderate oven for about 20 minutes.
